My bears&boxes evolved from my love of boxes (what’s inside?), papers, words, found objects and doodads.  Each piece begins as a simple box.  Most often, I begin with a reclaimed old jewelry box or a cigar box from the flea market, while occasionally the boxes I begin with are pretty, clean and unfinished.  Either way, I transform them into pieces that tell a bit of a story, or offer a surprise.  I have used all kinds of tools and materials to achieve the look I am after.  It is an exciting creative process - and sometimes maddening, too!  While some of these pieces can come together quickly in a week or two, others can confound me for several months.  Each is one-of-kind and most are priced at or around $439 US.
